I Crawled 47802 Articles of Ten Popular Publications, Did Analysis, Here are the Result I Found

Data is your best advisor.

As a writer on Medium, I always want to understand the platform. But Medium seems so parsimony to share data with their author.

Then I realize that I’m a programmer. Compare to beg Medium, I can crawl data myself. So, I start crawling some data from Medium with a spider bot.

I choose 10 publications from my following list and crawled all articles of them which were published during 2021 January 1 to 2021 October 30.

Note: I started my web crawler on 2021 November 21. And the claps of articles are always changed, so when you read this article, this number may outdate. Um, the number changes slowly, it’s not a big problem.

• total claps means how many claps of those articles were received.
• claps per artilcs means average claps of each article were received.
